I’m going to make some grim predictions.

    • ICE or the cops with them is going to start shooting people. They’ll say something insane like they “were under assault” when the crowd was in fact just yelling at them. ICE/cops will make one bald-faced lie after another about the incident. The lies will have little or no connection to reality.

    • The media will explain this as being something worthy of debate when in fact ICE/cops clearly used of tools of death because they can and they knew they’d face no repercussions.

    • A court - probably federal - will charge some people in the crowd with crimes and some of the victims. If ICE/cops are charged with some kind of token offense - it will be for entirely unimportant misdemeanors.

    • The media will frame this new awfulness as debatable too.

    • Repeat.

Normal cops do that shit all the time, they almost never get personally charged.

Maybe local property owners win a lawsuit against the local police, after 2 years, but then its just the city paying the insurance companies, meaning everyone is taxed for this… and the cops administrative leave paid vacation was only a couple weeks, maybe a month, they’ve been back at their job for over a year by the time the lawsuit finishes.

Local property owners could try to sue… ICE? DHS? … If they can figure out who these guys are?

… And then that gets laughed out of court at some level, potentially the Supreme Court.

This is full military police state shit, I’d be amazed if there is any kind of accountability, in any legal sense, for any of this… as our entire legal system is in the process of more or less cannibalizing itself right now.

If we had a real opposition party in this country, they’d be quietly prepping to abolish ICE as soon as they have the presidency and even a slim congressional majority.

They won’t, and it will be the biggest act of self-sabotage since they gleefully stripped back all the COVID expansions to the welfare state.

Everyone’s upset and we should be but this is a mistake. This is the kind of unpopular escalation that if repeated gets spread around in raw videos online and turns more people on the side-lines against them.

As Malcolm X said, those chickens are going to eventually come home to roost.

Heavily armed paramilitary forces stormed a local San Diego restaurant today, deployed stun grenades against a crowd of onlookers, and kidnapped a handful of kitchen workers.

Well hey there ya go, literal brown shirts.

      EDIT:

Also… I believe the guy on the right has a Sig Sauer MPX… 9mm (or 357 sig, or 40 cal), full auto capable, not sure if this particular one is integrally suppressed or the suppressor is attached…

US Army is an offical MPX user, but concievably any large scale US Federal LE, or even SWAT team or police department could use them as well, as well as basically just any LE person that can get a class 3 NFA due to their position.

Guy on the left seems to have a non standard issue pistol. Fancy grip and magwell, flared out duckbill … could be a customized M17? Not sure.

The grenade launcher he has is often used for crowd control: tear gas rounds, flash bang rounds, smoke, etc, they could have come out of this thing.

I got no fucking clue what that patch design is.

      EDIT 2

      Also possibly worth mentioning:

A fun way you can tell they are dressed for maximum intimidation effect?

Helmets, all tricked out, earpro/radios, eyepro, face masks… but no serious body armor.

They’re both just wearing minimal chest rigs, which probably (?) have kevlar in them, but theres very little area actually protected… they’d maybe stop a pistol round or two, not a rifle round though.

      They don’t even have kneepads.

This is the kit you choose if you expect basically no armed resistance, but want to move fast and look very scary.

An actual raid against people you’d expect armed resistance from… they’d have more serious body armor.

      EDIT 3:

At the rate things are going, I would not be surprised if within a month or two, these guys start rolling in with LRADs mounted… you know, the directed sound weapon things we invented to do crowd control in Iraq.

They may already be on some of their vehicles, just haven’t used them yet.

      EDIT 4:

      Total guess on the patches?

E ## is either ‘Extraction Team Member ##’ or possibly ‘Echo Team Member ##’… if its the latter, that just means there’s multiple different teams, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, etc…

But that is a total guess.

Still no fucking clue on the insignia.

Also gives insight in to the psychology of the group. Cops used to wear a mag or two on the side of back of the belt. Now I see them wearing four mags at a two o’clock position. Because now they think they’re going to get in gunfights and want 80rds on tap, ready to go, where they can easily reach them after dumping the mag loaded in the gun. That shows a significant shift in cop culture and practices and you wouldn’t know if you don’t pay attention to their kit and how they wear it.

Damn, I hadn’t even thought to point out mag positioning, I am so acclimated now to seeing what you pointed out that I forgot it even ever used to be different.

Yep, these guys are increasingly running ‘high speed, low drag’ loadouts…

Meanwhil, what was it, less than a year ago we had that vid of … a fucking acorn falls onto the cruiser a cop is walking past, cop screams out in pain, does a bobby hill version of a combat roll, mag dumps into another parked cruiser with a detained suspect in it, shooting right past/near the other officer next to that other cruiser, with the ‘backstop’ for those rounds being a bunch of townhomes just 20/30 feet from the car?

Jesus fuck what an embarrassment that video was.

They’re all terrified bullies cosplaying as Judge Dredd, still haven’t figured out that the Punisher they idolize would be vigilante murdering every cop with a Punisher tat or decal if he existed irl, because the cops that idolize him are the very corrupt, inept idiots he hates.

              Bleck.

Local orgs are saying much the same thing, framing this as ICE being forced to retreat because of the rapid community response.

Everyone and anyone, be ready to film these encounters if you see them and post them somewhere. This shit spreads like wildfire in local communities, people will show up. And it also raises awareness. This is a very popular pizza place that chuds also enjoy

eh, idk i didn’t post the clip as a dunk. this poster (who isn’t a mr. btw) might overstate the position a bit, there’s definitely a lot of police overreach here and these fascists will increasingly be looking for the excuse to use their kit, but they’ve been raiding businesses for months in increasingly brazen fashion and in basically all cases they haven’t drawn a crowd big enough to count as that excuse for use of force. i think i land somewhere in the middle; it may not be “mass spontaneous resistance” yet, but people are slowly getting more agitated about this bullshit, and the fascists are scared of that turning into mass resistance, and so they’re gonna start overreaching more often.

I wonder how much state-of-the-art hardcore military hardware they’ll buy. I wouldn’t be surprised if ICE’s official statement includes a middle finger to the public by way of pop culture references. They say they need the matériel for “urban pacification” in text that sounds like it could have appeared in movies like RoboCop.

      https://youtube.com/watch?v=LwOkSp936xI

      CBS 8 San Diego:

      https://youtube.com/watch?v=_fF1BIU1q3M

This video has a few interesting snippets… an actual detonation of a flash bang, more shots of more guys with more gear…

I can make out one with a paintball gun, these are also commonly used for crowd control with ‘pepper’ rounds…

yellow ‘POLICE’ and ‘DETENTION OFFICER’ on some guys… could be ICE, could be local PD, Sheriffs, not sure…

There do seem to be two different kinds of dress.

The guys with ‘POLICE’ and such are less geared up… they have what may be a general DHS shoulder patch… then you’ve got all the guys in tac helmets and tac vests, they’ve all got the same mystery (fascii?) patch, in different color schemes, same pattern though, all with E ## as well.

Ah ok, near the end, the ‘POLICE’ guys can be seen from the front, POLICE HSI.

      That’d make them these guys:

We shield our nation from global threats…

Uh, huh. A guy named Santiago working in a kitchen is #1 threat. Maybe he’s not actually chopping vegetables. He could be involved in drug and weapons smuggling, cyber and financial crime, illegal technology exports and intellectual property crime.

HSI conducts federal criminal investigations into the illegal movement of people, goods, money, contraband, weapons and sensitive technology into, out of and through the United States. HSI’s investigations are wide ranging – our cases include drug and weapons smuggling, cyber and financial crime, illegal technology exports and intellectual property crime. We also play a crucial role in investigating crimes of exploitation. This includes combating child exploitation, human trafficking, financial fraud and scams and other crimes against vulnerable populations.

Also - their fucking chutzpah - “crimes against vulnerable populations.”
