not usually a gun person either, but you put a lever on something? I’m all about that
edit, quick lookup
The Mosin–Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine–fed military rifle.
Developed from 1882 to 1891, it was used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other states.

No big loss right, I mean he’s only specializing in the symbiotic relationship on which practically all multi-cellar life is based.

more respectable than this, at least:
Similarly, Nick Frost disabled comments on his announcement post when he was confirmed to be playing Rubeus Hagrid.

it’s not even the fusion pose
you know, obvious choice for a two person pose
fake fucking fans i tell you what

I ended up clicking through to a different, related article:
John Lithgow considered quitting Harry Potter reboot over JK Rowling’s trans views
and this bit really caught my attention:
The actor acknowledged that some criticism, including from members of the LGBTQ+ community, had been difficult, noting he briefly considered leaving the project before deciding to stay.
He said he now expects in “every interview I will ever do for the rest of my life this will come up”.
So, he knows he’s hanging this albatross across his neck. I’m not sure if this self awareness makes it better or worse, but it does make me laugh for whatever goddam reason.

Kinda seems more like Ukraine’s not happy that the US lifted sanctions

I thought they didn’t, but now I’m not certain

When W. Bush tried to get Japan to help with his invasion, he at least had enough cursory knowledge to ask, “Hey, how bout we change that constitution of yours?”

must be like being called a fool by the most misinformed person you know
coming from you, that means the world

Mid-air refueling is such a preposterous example of sheer wasteful excess.
If I remember right, it was initially developed because they wanted the planes carying nuclear bombs to always be in the sky, “just in case” they didn’t get a chance to launch a retaliatory strike from the mainland. You could achieve the same effect with a few extra planes and a staggered scheduled. But whatever, I guess that would have only given Boeing or whoever a fat check and not The Fattest Check.

Not sure what you’re talking about. I love listening to 7.910 kkHz

Britain has the parking-lot boats?
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c39w2nj1rk8o
One of the UK’s two aircraft carriers has been placed on advanced readiness to sail from Portsmouth.
The crew of HMS Prince of Wales have been told they must be ready to leave in five days, defence sources said.
christ, what’s the other one called…?
…Queen Elizabeth. Why’d I even look it up, I coulda just guessed that.

I don’t think this is about negotiating with the United States.
For all its two faced-nature, the thing about the rules based international order is that it is popular. People want there to be sensible agreements, want to know level heads are prevailing. Of course the US isn’t gonna back down just because China called them out; the point is to demonstrate to everyone else that there is someone trying to make good on that false promise.

fundamentally all the same beliefs as your average yankee Protestant but with the added benefit of getting to cite American Exceptionalism as explicit doctrine with a chapter and verse.

I grew up mormon[1] and this outlook just fucking baffles me. Like, these guys wanna use the wealth and powers of the state to manufacture prophesy? Mutherfucker, that is quite literally testing God. Nearly the whole first book is all about how you don’t do that.
Whether that gives me a Christian upbringing is an exercise left to the reader. ↩︎

i think it might be this:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2026/03/01/us-troops-killed-iran/
The descriptions of shrapnel and concussions noted in Central Command’s statement Sunday point to missiles or drones, which produce blast injuries. While U.S. and regional allies have intercepted much of the incoming fire, some attacks have broken through, including numerous salvos that blasted a U.S. naval base in Bahrain.
which links to this earlier reporting: https://archive.ph/8n4eh
Another video shows a moment of impact. “They got the NAVCENT building,” the narrator says, referring to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command. Dark smoke pours out of the base in the immediate aftermath, two other videos show. Bahrain’s state news agency reported that the attacks struck a service center on the base.
Wapo has a dreadful website. If the news is the “first draft of history” then the editors have their work cut out for them untangling all these pop ups and live feeds.

Gen X is an unknown variable.
yeah, uh-huh, sure. And if I go to this guy’s wikipedia it says
1969 geboren [he only has a german language page]
Sounds like a Gen Xer who doesn’t wanna step back and paint himself with the same broad brush he’s doing to others. So I’ll do it for him. Gen X was raised by television.
oh right I saw one of those in Doctor Who once
they made David Tennant president of earth
