As the statistic goes, the average American commits three felonies per day. Most of them are frivolous and won’t be prosecuted. But if the authorities reeeeally want to charge you with something, they’ll find something to charge you with. Some examples:

• Donating to a charity that has received donations from a “terrorist” organization.
• Having a rock in your car/shoe from a national park and accidently taking it with you out of the park.
• Using marijuana in a state where it’s legal on vacation if you own guns in a state where weed isn’t. Each firearm is its own felony.
• Using someone’s password-protected wifi without their knowledge or explicit permission.
• Driving an ATV or dirt bike on federal land.
• Touching a bald eagle feather you found on the ground.

…and there’s hundreds (if not thousands) more. Abortion bans or HRT/GRS are the most recent examples of things that should be legal and normal, but were made illegal and now technology is being used to convict people.

Supply vs. Demand does affect the exhange value of commodities, but capitalists steal from workers by taking a “surplus.”

For example, let’s say it costs $2 in ingredients to make a burrito and 15 minutes to cook those ingredients (made in batches) with another 5 minutes to actually prepare the thing. Each batch of cooked ingredients let’s say makes enough for 10 burritos. So ingredients for 40 burritos can be prepared per hour with 20 burritos being made in that same time frame by each worker.

The total numbers would be:

• 40 burritos made with $80 total for ingredients
• 1 hour of labor to cook
• 2 hours of labor to prep
• Assuming a wage of $15 per hour (lol. lmao, even), three workers cost $45 to make burritos
• Total profit is $125 per hour between materials and labor or $3.125 from each burrito.

Now, here’s the rub: Chipotle turns around and sells each burrito for $12. The workers have generated $480 in profit. But the three of them only made $45 combined. This means capitalists stole over $145 from each worker. The workers should be able to turn around and buy 100 burritos for themselves, with change left over.

But that’s not the case. They only got $15, which is enough for a single burrito. Now, do this for every industry. People working 8 hours per day should be able to afford to buy hundreds of burritos if they were being compensated for the full value of their labor. A Chipotle worker should be getting around $1,100 per day if burritos are being sold at $12. Instead, that thousand dollars gets kicked up to C-suite shitheads who do fuck all.

It’s why wages are a sham. Even if you produce excessive quantities of commodities, you’re still getting paid like shit, just like everyone else in your class.

IIRC the Manhattan Project was tested on Native American land by forcing the people off elsewhere. They weren’t compensated, of course, and most ended up on reservations. Or worse than the ones they were already on.

This is one of the positions among Japan’s New Left after WWII and why they gained popularity. Japan’s far-right government started a war they couldn’t win, predicated on the enslavement and colonization of their neighbors, only to result in the country’s destruction and getting two nuclear bombs dropped on them. They gained nothing out of the war except occupation by a foreign army from the other side of the world and millions of dead bodies. Reactionary politics is not good for Japan seeing as how it led to Hiroshima and Nagasaki with many more cities firebombed.

Surely their small-ass island nation with a declining population can take on China (which is not in the middle of a civil war and has nukes), both halves of Korea (which are at a stalemate and have done nothing but build up their militaries for the last 50 years), the Philippines (which is not in ruins from fighting two superpowers in a row), and Vietnam (who have done nothing but win wars since they won the last war they fought against Japan).

And they aren’t even doing this to drug traffickers anyway. Plenty of drugs are smuggled into the US by dangerous organizations who are helped by the US government. The feds would rather blow up boats carrying fruit than boats carrying cocaine because there’s probably half a dozen CIA/FBI/DEA guys on the cocaine boat.
