Just because it’s not technically “genocide” to some people doesn’t mean it’s not evil. If someone from another country came to a western country, took someone’s land and home without asking, and then murdered their entire family, it would make international news as a tragedy and something that should never happen.
“It hasn’t met the official criteria yet”, was my favorite excuse last year. Like, buddy…if it’s even moving in that general direction, it’s already gone too far.
It makes me wonder TF is wrong with the other 14%.
I feel all that hyperbolic calling it genocide a few years ago when it was just a war with not enough attention to safeguarding civilians, led to Israel saying to themselves ‘heck if we’re called genociders anyway, we might as well get the job done’.
It’s been a genocide for a while now. Just because it hadn’t entered its current version doesn’t mean it was ever anything different.
So everything is preordained?
Israeli government officials were declaring their intention on October 8th and have not wavered. In October 2023, Netanyahu said they were in “a holy war of annihilation” and called the Palestinians “Amalek” - that’s a biblical obligation to destroy completely that faithful Jews take very seriously.
