seizing control over the DC police and mobilizing the national guard because a teenager got beat up? is this some pretext to do something else or is he just trying to send a message to… someone?

Well he can only really blame his dumbass supporters who have no idea how power actually works and thought that standing in a government building for long enough would magically make him king. Are we sure he actually knows how to pull off a reichstag fire moment?

he can’t even arrest all the democrats idk what the big idea is

Trump could sign an executive order saying “democrats are a domestic enemy” and ICE can arrest them at any time. Then the GOP justices will make a weird pronouncement that it’s okay for ICE to do that “temporarily” . Of course - they’ll finally rule that it’s the law.

Is there anything that will ever break liberals’ belief in the law as some mystical power that exists outside of politics? Liberals will be on the trains to the camps and they’ll still be furiously filling out appeals forms to appeal their forced labor sentence to the Supreme Court arguing that George Washington wouldn’t have wanted this (he absolutely would’ve wanted it)

            Is there anything…

Nope. I really don’t think there is.

Liberals will be on the trains to the camps and they’ll still be furiously filling out appeals forms…

            That sounds about right.

            -–

The dems have managed to become historically unpopular. It’s kind of amazing. I look forward to them working hard to push those numbers even lower. Next year’s elections might be hilarious. I think the dem machine might actually push center-right candidates in the hopes of grabbing “reasonable” republican voters. Meanwhile - their base is demoralized by this shit and turn out is very low and the dems get hosed.

Have the dems tried calling their base terrorist supporters in a more condescending tone? Kamala should go on CNN and call them worthless cretins, I’m sure that will boost their numbers

the dems already have hard pivoted on trans people as well, with even people like buttigieg and sarah mcbride (for the most part, she actually did kill one bad bill effectively banning transition care federally) going lgb drop the t

like that just emphasizes how strange this act is in context, it’s either unimaginably petty or only makes sense to a cadre of utterly unhinged people. revenge for trump’s birthday sucking???

edit: btw: if this is to preempt protests for something else, these people are such fucking idiots lmao. lets make entirely clear exactly how our command and control network works before we even start
