Plague occurs in three forms, bubonic, septicemic and pneumonic, depending on whether the infection hits the lymph nodes, bloodstream or lungs. Most US cases are bubonic, typically spread via flea bites from infected rodents.

The article is shit and it doesn’t say what form the victim had. Why didn’t they update it? Another article says…

A resident of Arizona has died from pneumonic plague, health officials confirmed on Friday.

Original notice here. We average about 7 plague deaths a year according to the cdc. Rodent die-off is usually an indicator it’s on the rise.

If the CDC still exists, it doesn’t care what kind of plague it is.

I would have thought septic, bubonic and neumonc take longer to kill you and can be treated.

Septic kills you way to fast and is for all intents and proposes untreatable. The good thing is that it’s harder to spread.

The worrying one in neumonc. Its the most easily spread. And is harder to treat then bubonic.
