Small summary:

In an overwhelming vote (507 in favor, 31 against), the European Parliament approved a resolution on Thursday rejecting any attempt to ease measures against the Caracas government, demanding “irreversible” progress before lifting any sanctions.

The EU’s 3 non-negotiable conditions for lifting sanctions:

  • Unconditional release of so-called political prisoners and restoration of their civil rights.
  • Withdrawal and dismissal of all legal proceedings against the opposition.
  • Establishment of a credible timeline for elections.

Everything indicates that the EU will not normalize relations with Venezuela without a transition that places Machado at the center of political power. Given Machado’s recent trips to Europe, she spoke with European politicians demanding that sanctions against Venezuela remain in place.

Western funded terrorists are allowed to make a mockery out of a global south nation’s legal system and if that country tries to uphold it’s own laws the Euros turn up their noses and apply sanctions.

It’s such a blood boiling display.

Establishment of a credible timeline for elections.

I think it’s clear that the West will only consider the elections “fair” when their candidate wins.
