Starting to wonder if the FIFA isn’t the best judge of character.

The people who are fine with razing homeless camps and poor people housing, and human/drug trafficking?

Wait, how is Trump connected to the El Mencho assassination? I thought that was just Mexico.

Agreed, let’s not propagate falsehoods on Lemmy. US helped with intelligence but Mexico did the actions. (as far as I am aware)

Yes, the US didn’t do much. The extent of the shared intelligence is unknown and mightve been minimal for all we know. It was mexican boots on the ground.

There was a psyop campaign from the very start to undermine the mexican goverment by giving the credit to the US.

He’s not, it was claimed on social media and grew from there. Fact checked here - https://www.timesnownews.com/world/mexico-news-fact-check-was-el-mencho-eliminated-in-mexico-by-american-special-forces-article-153671194

Trump didn’t do it, so maybe he deserved the peace prize after all.

Well. Hes not directly connected. But the US did provide intelligence for the operation and Trump has threatened to invade if they didnt do something about the cartels. The news keeps saying that this is a break from previous administrations who did not want to kill kartel leaders because it always means retalliatory violence. We cant know their exact reasons. But it definitely isnt crazy to assume Trumps threats made them more agressive.

Mencho was going down regardless of Trumps threats, giving him any credit for it is a stupid concesion.

Even so, he didn’t directly call the shots. Let’s not water down his actual atrocities with crimes that can be more easily defended.

That’s a very biased way of saying that he freed Venezuela from their communist fascist dictator, and is in the process of freeing Iran from their fascist dictatorship. Also don’t usually hear killing the leader of a mexican drug cartel be spoken about in a bad way…

Or a very direct way of saying that the FIFA peace prize isn’t worth shit. Your president chump “el chumpo” hasn’t promoted peace in any of his excursions, not even the legal ones. If you can find them.

Hah, well when you put it like that it’s pretty funny, but as far as I know liquid gasoline/petrol doesn’t really burn. It has to evaporate I guess, and the gaseous fuel is what actually ignites. I’m not an expert so someone please correct me if I’m wrong. Not sure why we don’t just call it petrol.
