Israel is literally the worst thing for Jews since the holocaust. They are literally enacting all the stereotypes that antisemites have claimed about Jews for hundreds of years. Fuck Israel and all zionists.
Accurso “posted nearly 50 times about the children of Gaza, most of which is filled with misinformation from Hamas, and only 5 times about Israeli children,”
You’re right, that’s way out of proportion with the actual death tolls! She should have mentioned Gazan child deaths ~3,300 times before mentioning Israeli children once.
Pretty antisemitic of the New York Times to use the phrase “Jewish parents” in place of the more correct “monstrous supporters of a brutal genocide,” as if the two mean the same thing. No decent parent (nor, indeed, person of any kind), Jewish or otherwise, has any problem with Ms. Rachel’s position.
Omitting that part would be disproportionate and biased against the significant proportion of those in the US who currently agree with the “StopAntisemitism” advocacy group. Plus the article dedicates far more to Ms. Rachel’s defenders anyways.
I don’t give a shit about genocide celebrators
I agree, but if you think that means you should not hear anything about them, partisan sources are also available.
Are you implying that the NYT is unbiased?
lol
lmao
No. I’m saying this aspect of the passage is a fruitful attempt at being neutral, and not covering it would be far more partisan.
I think I take your meaning, but contend that neutrality can only exist in theory and not practice
Dont know why this is being down voted. The post here has a biased read of the article rather than its actual headline or contents.
The article factually reports that the advocacy group “StopAntisematism” levelled her “Antisemite of the Week”; not whether that is “right” or “wrong”. It also reports the group reported her to the authorities to investigate whether she has links with hamas.
Its puts both sides opinions across, and if anything paints her in a sympathetic light. The advocacy groups actions read as bizarre in the context given by the article.
The use of “antisemite” has become patently ludicrous. The word has been weaponised by Israel and it’s apologists for quite some time but in recent years its been massively overused to the point it no longer has meaning. The deliberate conflation between anti-sematism and being against the actions of Israel have gone too far and the term is becoming meaningless.
Its actually very dangerous as it will obscure true anti semetisim from view as people become increasingly cynical about the term being nothing more than a right wing propaganda term rather than when it is used to flag up genuine and worrying jewish based hate.
Similarly the idea of showing sympathy to the people of Gaza being the same as being pro-Hamas is also patently ludicrous and a dangerous precedent to be setting in public discourse.
