Disco Elysium but it’s written by ancaps
Lmao
youre telling me somebody died at the “lets burn a giant effigy of a man based on supposed human sacrifice” event and they didn’t even try to put the corpse in the purpose-built crematorium at the festival?
It must be kinda hard to do since there are presumably fire keepers around at all times? But idk I did hear things got out of hand a few years 🤔
fire keepers
It’s on Paiute land, and they ask that we don’t burn any human remains. Lots of people leave stuff at the temple to honor people in their lives who have died, but we draw the line at ashes or any other remains.
i assume whatever produced this corpse was not a sanctioned activity by the event
Bleeding Man festival
That one’s up north
Kinda weird someone doesnt get killed every year. A bunch of random weirdos doing drugs usually results in at least one serious crime being committed.
Vaxxed?
looking into it
good luck solving that one
this year, a dust storm tore temporary structures away, including one named the “orgy dome”.
Given how often people go, it’s surprising how unprepared people are for high winds or storms (me included, but I’m broke).
Good luck with that.
Ebola claimed it’s first victim?
The festival should never have been tolerated.
Could be a hemorrhagic fever?
Life was created and life was taken.
Wicker Man
partying too hard is a homicide now?
This was pretty fucked up, and nothing like this has ever happened before. I was in a leadership position when this went down, and a lot of our volunteers who were responsible for holding a perimeter on the initial scene were (understandably) pretty upset when they found out what they’d been holding the perimeter for. As they move off playa, we’re working on getting them post-incident counseling.
As of now, the victim is still unidentified. We’re seeking information about anyone matching the description who has been missing since that date, but so far no dice. It was a bad scene all around, both for our volunteers and the participants who initially found the body (as well as for the victim himself of course). Nothing like this has ever happened before; we have the (very very occasional) death, but never a homicide.
