I mean, it seem to mostly be recent bans for spreading Russian propaganda…

I don’t really need to scroll all the way thru

Another meaningless pejorative for uncomfortable realities.

“Propaganda” never implied mistruth until American reactionaries literally changed the definition during the Cold War, implying themselves as the sole purveyors of truth, anything else being propaganda, without ever having to contend with fact.

American Exceptionalism is the dumbest fallacy imaginable.

“Propaganda” never implied mistruth until American reactionaries literally changed the definition during the Cold War,

        Uh…

That’s kind of easy to disprove buddy…

Hence, “any movement or organization to propagate some practice or ideology” (1790). The modern political sense (“dissemination of information intended to promote a political point of view”) dates from World War I, originally not pejorative or implying bias or deliberate deception. Meaning “material or information propagated to advance a cause, etc.” is from 1929. Related: Propagandic.

        https://www.etymonline.com/word/propaganda

So you’re off by about 30 years

But I think the big issue is you think “propaganda” was the bad word and not “Russian”…

Some propaganda is for a good cause, no one is shocked by that.

But no propaganda from Putin is good, just like no propaganda from trump is good.

        Russian propaganda

If you started posting “healthcare is a human right” propaganda, you’ll get a much different reaction.

But if you spread pro-putin propaganda and expect a different result than pro-trump or pro-netenyahu…

        You’re in the wrong place.

No one here is going to be convinced Dems are as bad as Republicans or that Ukraine is as bad as Russia.

But it’s pretty clear this account isn’t going to last long. I guess I’ll see you on your next one.

I’m advocating, propagandizing, for democracy. Russia is defending the democratic human right of self determination after a U.S. bankrolled fascist coup.

Ukrainians can’t vote. All opposition parties have been banned. All opposition media has been seized. Men can’t even leave to escape the conscription thugs kidnapping them into vans like ICE agents. Busification.

Russia also supports Palestinian liberation. Awesome. Cool.

You can boil it down to one man, and that’s fine. Putin has massive support among the Russian people, more than any Republican or Democrat ever had. And they’re the only ones that matter.

You don’t get to tell sovereign people on the other side of the world that they “voted wrong”, for Putin, for Yanukovych, or for the countless other democratically elected leaders America has couped, overthrown, kidnapped, or murdered.

Our enemies were never foreign, and you’re a chump to believe that.

Jingoism is a distraction for small minds.

Russia the authoritarian dictatorship defends the democratic right of self determination by unilaterally annexing the oblasts it is attempting to conquer all while denying the basic human rights of its own people.

You complain of Ukraine banning opposition political parties (usually because they are funded by Russia) but make no mention of Russia doing the same thing to their main opposition party right before the election.

You call the USA fascist as Russia ticks all of the boxes of a fascist dictatorship.

You are a deluded tankie hypocrite, sit down you fool.

The Donetsk and Luhansk Peoples Republics seceded on their own after the coup. This was not recognized, but the coup was? The democratic popularity was never challenged, only that they didn’t have a right to secede, even after a coup. Look it up.

Censorship in Russia is not nearly as bad as in Ukraine, as in THERE IS an opposition media. It exists. It’s just that no one cares. Look it up.

Censorship happened all across the West as RT was pulled from services or outright banned. Look it up.

Even Western polling shows Putin is massively popular, with an approval rating higher than any modern US president. Look it up.

Russia’s human index, which includes human rights, has done nothing but go up since the plummet following Perestroika. Look it up.

These are all demonstrably true things, and the idea that you could be so confident in demonstrably false assertions should give you and everyone else pause.

What the fuck is going on?

Secession is not a democratic right, especially one that is astroturfed by Russia. You cry foul regarding CIA involvement in Maidan but again show your hypocrisy with crickets regarding Russia doing the same in the Donbass.

I also don’t think you understand the word “coup”. A coup is a top down takeover, Maidan was a popular uprising, the biggest day had somewhere between 400,000-1 million people present depending on the source. Yanukovic ran away like a coward.

Censorship in Russia is not nearly as bad as in Ukraine, as in THERE IS an opposition media. It exists. It’s just that no one cares. Look it up.

In your opinion, I strongly disagree. Russia has controlled opposition media, not the same thing as opposition media. They also ban foreign media.

RT was banned when Russia started their stupid failing war because it is just Russian state propaganda.

Putin is popular in opinion polls, a combination of fear, total state control of media and orcs being orcs.

Russia’s human index, which includes human rights, has done nothing but go up since the plummet following Perestroika. Look it up.

I did, Russia’s human rights index is dogshit and has been going down in recent years since the war started. They sit at the same level as north Korea currently, good company!

These are all demonstrably true things

I’ve just shown you they are not, you live in fantasy land buddy, your indoctrination is no match for my education. Why do you love Putin so much, the chap is clearly a loser who has spent the last 5 years destroying his own army, once thought no. 2 in the world, failing to take over the poorest, most corrupt country in Europe. What is with people these days celebrating failure?

Saying anyone who went to Maidan wanted Svoboda in charge is intellectually dishonest. If it was so popular in a nation of 44 MILLION then Yanukovych would have lost the next election, and maybe he would have, but he didn’t get the chance. Governments are decided in the polls, not in the streets. That’s the difference between fascists storming the capitol Jan6 style and democratic elections in the Donbass. Any legitimacy to Ukrainian unity disappeared that day.

We have a drastically different idea as to what democracy means, apparently.

And the idea of politicians being cowards because the fled a fascist mob is kinda undermining yourself as democratic.

What happened to elected representatives who stayed and tried to participate in the coup government?

I really think you’re alarmingly uninformed, misinformed, and disinformed.

I’ve spoken to a few of your types before who are of the mistaken belief that if you vote in a government, the government then has a divine right to finish their term. If the government is not performing economically or in the case of Yanukovic, reneging on election promises the people can protest and demand the government steps down and new elections are held. Yanukovic decided to try and cling to power despite clearly losing his mandate and then ran to Russia when this was no longer possible.

That’s the difference between fascists storming the capitol Jan6 style and democratic elections in the Donbass. Any legitimacy to Ukrainian unity disappeared that day.

You think elections carried out in a war zone with polling stations surrounded by armed Russians are legitimate? Only 2 other nations in the world, Syria and north Korea, the rest of the world agrees with me that your statement is ridiculous, not even China backs that one.

We have a drastically different idea as to what democracy means, apparently.

                    Clearly

And the idea of politicians being cowards because the fled a fascist mob is kinda undermining yourself as democratic

Please explain to me how this statement makes any sense? Not getting how the two are linked, must make sense under your idea of democracy…

What happened to elected representatives who stayed and tried to participate in the coup government?

I thought we established in my previous comment that what happened in Ukraine does not fulfill the definition of a coup. You are dogmatic in sticking to your script anyway. Weird coup where we have had several elections with different winners for president and parliament, with peaceful transfers of power since. How many different people and parties have been in charge of Russia since the year 2000?

You live in dreamland buddy, your worldview is pathetic and doesn’t stand up to the tiniest degree of scrutiny. I get that is all you have so you cling to it but does it not get tiring. You guys remind me of flat earthers.
