PTB: I wish i could say this type of response was a surprise, but it’s what I’ve come to expect from .world.

A perm instance ban is just way over the top too. Unless someone is routinely spamming, a temp ban/comment removal is all that’s needed.

On one hand pretty justified (they are shitlibs) but on the other hand insulting an admin in their own instance tends to result in a ban (not how it should be and not how I personally will ever operate but sadly its how it is)

(edit: fuck these shitlibs, apperently we banning people now for comments made on other instances made by other ppl)

(edit 2: I have redacted the term “zionazi” from my statement and apologize for any harm that term may have caused. However I refuse to redact the term shitlib, I will never apologize for calling out a shitlib)

They instance banned you for this comment.

New hidden rule on Lemmy.world, call Lemmy.world/the FHF and you get banned.

Tbh nothing of value was lost, these shitlibs don’t matter to me and their opinions are meaningless. From now on I will block the entire instance and piefed.world.

PTB, instance banning the person they disagree is too much. Sadly MrKaplan gets more upset with people criticizing genocide rather than those who are directly contributing to it.

PTB, this is to be expected given the history of Lemmy.world’s management when it comes to similar issues. Like the drama surrounding them removing the piracy communities. They were banning their users for being against that, and when it was called out, they reversed the instance bans and changed them to community bans.

Must’ve been real dark times back then since this community is invaluable in search of decent instances.

In many ways it was. Lemmy.world had a lot more power and influence back then. I mean I still blame the other instances who chose to close registrations to “wait out the Reddit migration”. I know people will defend that choice (for some reason) but it is insanely shitty to close the doors in times of need, and acknowledge the need, as if it’s some kind of problem or annoyance.

Weeeellllll, it’s definitely PTB because damn, what an overreaction

But there’s definitely some YDI behind it because if someone comes out with what amounts to an otherwise empty insult as their only statement, there’s definitely supposed to be moderation. I’d have for sure removed a derailing insult as well. Maybe even a temp ban if I was in a horrible mood or whatever.

But the degree of response is out of line with the offense for sure.

I mean, going to a thread that’s celebrating a migration and immediately going “you guys are fucking ZioNazis!!” is daft to say the least, like what’d you expect the reaction to be?

If what you expected was starting some genuine discussion or for the org to immediately feel bad and disband or something silly like that, then perhaps some grass touching sessions might be in order if it’s not rainy, maybe while you’re at it also insult a random bystander and see what happens. If it’s to be banned, then yeah you got what you wanted but an instance-wide permaban seems way too harsh of a punishment, something like a comment removal would have more than sufficed.

I was stating my distaste for the move and solidification of control of important Fediverse infrastructure under the control of such bias known leadership. I’ll admit it was blunt and abrasive, and wouldn’t have cared if it was deleted.

A complete instance ban under the guise of ‘trolling’ is my only issue. It’s now my 4th instance ban in 2 days, feeling like a somewhat co-ordinated move at this point when I’ve had zero beforehand.

Yeah, I can see now that you also got instance banned from lemmy.ca for the exact same comment that was already removed by .world, it’s very possible you’re being straight up targeted at this point. They also claim that it’s due to your history of repeat offenses, but your modlog isn’t even that bad…

Eh doesn’t matter .world administration never listens and plays the “we’re just following the rules” card whenever it suits them.

You can see how they act with racist losers like JordanLund and their complete refusal to ever reprimand him.

BPR - If you call someone or their backers nazis, they obviously react this way. Either because they are nazis, so they behave like them or because your claim is false, but you just called them the worst people on earth, so why would they want anything to do with you.

there is no practical difference between the ideology of nazism and zionism. both are an ethno-nationalist religious supremacy movement that engages in the genocide of beings deemed inferior by the government. shall we begin posting the hundreds upon hundreds of tweets by Israeli government members that explicitly call Palestinians animals and subhumans?

FYI, according to the community chosen guidelines of both dbzer0 and AN, showing support for zionism or nazism is a bannable offense.

easy. the german nazis themselves were zionists. they cooperated with the jewish-zionist movement to deport german Jews to “israel.” the thing to understand:

      • zionism: ethnonationalist political movement that believes Jews have no place in modern society and they should all move somewhere else
      • nazism: ethnonationalist political movement that believes Jews have no place rn modern society and they should all move somewhere else
