Leading sponsor of state terrorism is a wild thing to say when, among the long long history of sponsoring terror, the US openly admitted to trying to pass weapons into Iran for local terror groups to use. Which failed because the middlemen were a previously burnt group manipulated for terror operations.

They don’t even care about holes in their stories anymore. They’re fully expecting American exceptionalism to work, and it is, because 99% of Americans who will condemn this war will say “both sides are bad” so the sentiment itself leads to nothing but inaction, while those frothing at the mouth for war will seek war. Surely there’s no way the good Americans would be considered state sponsors of terrorism.

        it’s keyword play

they’ve invented that catch-all category of a “state sponsor of terrorism” to sanction countries so now they have to repeat that at every step to justify their actions

Had it actually been confirmed that these were funded by Iran before this interview? Because i was kind of thinking they were just made by some iranian hardliners / an iranian company and people were doing the “china is making X” thing here

Dr Tine Munk, a cyber warfare expert at Nottingham Trent University, characterises Iran’s tactics as “defensive memetic warfare” which the creators see as necessary to combat US rhetoric.

I’m somewhat skeptical if I’m totally honest. They’re doing a good job to get picked up by the media, but it’s worth remembering that this only hits because it’s backed by a mass grave of school children.

This is also a double edge sword because someone is equally likely to be go look for a Lego set to buy when they see this. Now I’m not saying it’s harmful, but if I was in the Gestapo I’d definitely let my citizens get a feel good moment, as long as they’re not actually doing anything all is good. Also this boosts the economic activity and sells more toys which is awesome.

Denmark’s also doing an excellent job laundering Dates with flavoring added to them so they can say “Made in Denmark.” Wouldn’t surprise me if those are grown in a little settlement, but hey at least Israel name is tarnished for sure, if they need to hide “Grown in Israel” on their packages.

Denmark isn’t the primary contradiction of our times. The significance of Iran being able to challenge US media power globally should not be understated. This is the first time in history that the US completely failed to control the narrative on the war out of the gate even in the west. And AI tools are what made it possible for Iran to run their own effective propaganda that connects with people in the west. Traditionally, the US was able to leverage its vast media industry, with artists, designers, 3d modellers, script writers, and so on, who’ve honed their skills in Hollywood to run propaganda campaigns that could not be equalled. Now, a small team in Iran is able to put out media that’s just as effective at capturing public attention. This is absolutely a revolutionary development.

Revolutionary development will happen when the Fascists seize the means of production, because they have managed to pacify you with your shiny little toy and you don’t give 2 shits about the workers.

        Just more identity politics.
