  • I watched Hillary Clinton’s speech from this event a couple days ago. At one point, she says that tragedies are happening around the world because the US isn’t intervening enough and that the US needs to fuck around in conflicts even more.

    I’m angry about all of the human rights abuses. I’m angry about all of the excessive use of uh force. I’m angry about, you know, what happened on October 7th in Israel and what happened in Gaza. I’m angry about what Russia’s doing in Ukraine. I’m angry about Sudan. I’m angry about the Eastern Congo. I mean, I think we should be all looking at the tragedies and the conflicts that are bringing about so much suffering and be dealing with them. That’s why the national security strategy is not to my liking because I think the United States has an important role in trying to resolve these conflicts and alleviate the suffering and give people a chance to have peaceful, prosperous lives. That should be our goal. That is in America’s interest. I don’t care where in the world you are. So, of course, the suffering in Gaza is horrific. Full stop.

    Suffering everywhere is horrific. So, let’s look at what we can do to try to resolve, you know, what is being done to people in so many different settings right now. And I think that the the emphasis on one terrible conflict sort of doesn’t do justice to the challenges that we are confronting. And I don’t want to see my country basically say, “You know what, you know those other presidents, they tried to resolve conflicts, they tried to stand for democracy and freedom. they stood up for human rights. what a waste of time.” That is to me an abdication of leadership and I want to see us involved everywhere trying to stop the kind of horrible abuses that are going on.

  • I was surprised that the 20,000 emails released by the GOP oversight committee had so many mentions of Trump.

    The bill says that redactions have to be approved by the Congress. It says that Pam Bondi has to declassify documents if not approved by the Congress. The bill is a law, so if she doesn’t, she is violating the law, whatever that means.

    Hypothetically, if there are a lot of redactions. If we consider MAGA incompetence, with Trump appointing a lot of podcasters within his cabinet, I think there is a solid chance that they forget to redact some things.

    If the files are excessively redacted, there is still the chance that the documents get released by the Democrat House Oversight committee or by the Epstein Estate. Jeffrey Epstein’s brother (Mark) has been in the news making statements that he believes that Republicans will try to hide Republican involvement. The Epstein Estate also has access to many documents.

  • The bill calls for the US DOJ to release Epstein Files. The US Congress also has different Epstein documents. The recent 20,000 emails and the Epstein Birthday book were published by the US Congress and not the US DOJ.

    The Epstein Estate might also publish documents. Epstein’s brother Mark Epstein gave a press statement today that the GOP would sabotage the US DOJ file release. It is possible that the Epstein Estate publishes more documents if the US DOJ release is blocked or tampered with. The Epstein Estate might be trying to hurt Trump because he killed Jeffrey Epstein.

  • If you read the full bill. It says that Pam Bondi must also declassify information in the documents and that any information that can’t be declassified must be submitted to the congress for approval.

    © Permitted withholdings.—

    (1) The Attorney general may withhold or redact the segregable portions of records that—

    (A) contain personally identifiable information of victims or victims’ personal and medical files and similar files the disclosure of which would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy;

    © would jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution, provided that such withholding is narrowly tailored and temporary;

    (D) depict or contain images of death, physical abuse, or injury of any person; or

    (E) contain information specifically authorized under criteria established by an Executive order to be kept secret in the interest of national defense or foreign policy and are in fact properly classified pursuant to such Executive order.

    (2) All redactions must be accompanied by a written justification published in the Federal Register and submitted to Congress.

    (3) To the extent that any covered information would otherwise be redacted or withheld as classified information under this section, the Attorney General shall declassify that classified information to the maximum extent possible.

    (A) If the Attorney General makes a determination that covered information may not be declassified and made available in a manner that protects the national security of the United States, including methods or sources related to national security, the Attorney General shall release an unclassified summary for each of the redacted or withheld classified information.

    (4) All decisions to classify any covered information after July 1, 2025 shall be published in the Federal Register and submitted to Congress, including the date of classification, the identity of the classifying authority, and an unclassified summary of the justification.

    Also. The bill only tells the US DOJ to publish the Epstein documents. The US DOJ is not the only source of Epstein documents. The recent emails published were released by the US Congress, not the US DOJ.

    Also. The Epstein Estate has also published some documents. They might be publish documents because they think Trump killed Jeffrey Epstein.
