“Until now, the US was not in the position of requesting investment from us. But now, we hold the power as investors, and the US must respond to our demands,” he said.
“It is now time for the US Congress and government to change their attitude. Our demands for legislation that guarantees quotas for Korean professionals, such as the Partner with Korea Act, are legitimate,” he stressed.
Four lawmakers from the progressive minor Jinbo Party, including floor leader Yoon Jong-oh, visited the US Embassy in Seoul’s Jongno District on Tuesday afternoon. They met with Joseph Yun, the US chargé d’affaires in Korea, and delivered a letter demanding an official apology from the US government.
In the letter, they stated, “Treating Korean workers as felons, shackling them in chains and detaining them, is a clear violation of human rights and an insult to the entire Korean people.”
Wag that dog! The hub of global finance needs you far more than you need it.
I wonder if Trump is gonna freak out over this or if they’re gonna quietly fold and hope the story doesn’t break out into the wider anglophone media sphere.
Alienating a country you’re occupying is a contender for biggest fuckups of the century, thanks JDPON Don

Cute, but Americans have a lot of troops in your country and directly control your military

This is unironically true. The hub of hopes and dreams production needs places that produce goods far more than the goods producing places need whatever the US provides. Lectures and drunken GIs harassing your citizens mostly.
The whole reason for this scandal is the US trying to actually do some domestic manufacturing and in order to do that we need workers from South Korea to teach people how to do it. Without them we can’t do it.
I know my tone was glib, but I do genuinely believe this.
yeah the country known for sex trafficking their own citizens to american GIs and then covering it up will for sure bite the hand that feeds this time
