While Donald Trump’s attacks on the Fed are deeply authoritarian, the institution itself is far from blameless. From the 2008 crash to the pandemic, its primary aim has been to protect the interests of the wealthy.

From the 2008 crash to the pandemic, its primary aim has been to protect the interests of the wealthy.

Uh…no, not just from 2008, from its creation that has been its primary function.

While Donald Trump’s attacks on the Fed are deeply authoritarian

But if the FED is an institution that just serves the interests of the wealthy, how is attacking it and trying to subordinate it under an ostensibly (and i really have to stress that word, because this is the libs’ own framing) democratically elected government a bad thing? How is that “authoritarian”?

Also, notice yet again libs throwing around their favorite meaningless buzzword, “authoritarian”. There are so many accurate negative terms that you can call Trump that actually mean something, but of course libs go with the one that is so vague and so overused that it has zero informational value.

“Authoritarian” really does just mean “when government does things i don’t like”.
