Israel claims Anas was part of the Hamas as of October of 2024. Anas has been a journalist as of 2023 or earlier, not exactly sure. There is supposedly an injury report about him in the Hamas documents dating back to 2017 (not really sure if this is by name/picture/etc. like how is one Anas Al-sharif confirmed to be the same person). All that said, he has denied that he was part of Hamas as of July.
