Honestly human psyches have a space for gods and even if they don’t exist, they fill a survival role and the modern secularism is just a fad Not the permanent enlightenment that the Renaissance promised, huh?

Maybe creating an ethnostate for a group of human beings that consider themselves to be “God’s chosen people” was a terrible idea to begin with.
Not particularly more terrible than any other that was founded on the same basis, and if you go back far enough, all are.
