LinkedIn removed transgender-related protections from its policy on hateful and derogatory content. The platform no longer lists “misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals” as examples of prohibited conduct.
Similarly, the platform removed “race or gender identity” from its examples of inherent traits for which negative comments are considered harassment.
They brushed all the rainbow-themed cobwebs off their capitalism.
The boys are back
FUCKING RACE???
Time to call Northrop Grumman workers crackers. They can’t stop me.
Tracking the amount of antacids and other digestion-themed medicines delivered to stores around Raytheon Acres in order to track your effectiveness.
Lol. Lmao. Rainbow capitalism never amounted to much in the end.
Oh, it amounted to billions in profit, but there’s billions more to be had in brownshirt capitalism (actually just regular fascism, but with more McDonalds renaming their happy meals to Hitler youth meals)
If you ever find yourself questioning your beliefs, remind yourself that they all hate you solely because they think it’s funny.
Make the switch from Microsoft before the Windows 10 EOL.
My experience with Linux has been annoying, time consuming, and me having to google and code (enter shit in the terminal) to simply download a program. Am I wrong or just stupid, because everyone on this website talks about Linux OSs as the second coming of Christ
by its very nature there will always be more friction doing almost anything in Linux compared to windows or mac os. you’re not wrong or stupid.
it’s not the second coming of christ just a different philosophy of using the computer. i do think that actually knowing how a computer works instead of the hyper convenience of modern OSes is valuable. Hell, using windows by default makes most advanced-nerd-stuff slightly more difficult. With windows and mac (i don’t notice it as much on mac tbh) you also have to work backwards to de-bloat the systems which is wrong.
here’s my searing take that would fix this: communism. Under my regime a tech company would make the one operating system and it would be all the best parts of dedicated support and convenience found in closed source OSes while not doing all the bloat stuff. yes it would be open source but it would be so good you’d never experience what you did
Yeah I guess I’ve always stuck at the basic nerd level because that’s all I’ve needed. Using windows for decades, I know the file and drive system inside and out (compared to mac), and I’ve never needed to go beyond that, so disabling cortana or whatever has never been that big an issue. Obviously W11 looks like hell for ads and apps and bullshit, but I still don’t know if I’m brave enough to fully shift over. Distro recs?
The Mint distro is basically Windows. Super easy to use in my experience.
Edit: but I like using the terminal…
i use mac lol. years ago ubuntu was the easiest to set up for me. Anytime I’m using linux it’s actually exclusively in a terminal for deployment related stuff or personal projects where I set up remote servers etc. I think anyone being able to turn on computers and use them without knowing is a miracle I just wish that tech ghouls didn’t own them. Not everyone needs or wants to know how to code. So my recommendation is whichever one suits your needs. pick the distro with proven least-friction
What distro are you using btw? Even one of the more tame ones like mint will have a learning curve but trust me, it’s well worth it.
I think I tried mint or ubuntu before my old laptop bricked
They both have an app store which is basically point and click unless you are doing something more advanced
Probably got the distro wrong, it was a while ago
All of this started because credulous libs took far right propaganda at face value, and decided that catering to a non-existent dominant demographic of woke college kids was the best business strategy. Now they realize they never had to do all of that. Even worse, they probably feel that overestimating the liberal or leftist tendency of society cost them missed opportunity. Meaning they regret not backing the far right the whole time. They’ll never make that mistake again.
credulous libs took far right propaganda
There legitimately was an explosion in DEI corporate jobs for white libs which generated it’s own growth
Even the stalwart allies at LinkedIn?
What is LinkedIn trying to get from the trump administration?
It’s Microsoft so maybe not being smashed to pieces as a monopoly as they should have been and were on the verge of being before the Bush admin just kinda said nah nevermind at the last second.
I mean they have so many regulatory interests. Acquisitions, sub-divisions, the whole thing not being subjected to monopoly, the US using its might to smash Europe in the face and force them to stop interfering with profits as Trump recently has been doing in interceding on behalf of Elon against EU laws and prosecutors.
More like the CIA under Trump IMO. I’ve said this before but in a touristy place here in Taipei they recently painted over a rainbow colored road crossing. New boss, different orders.
