Snip:

The Israeli regime military says seven of its troops were killed in the southern Gaza Strip after an armored vehicle they were traveling in was hit by an explosive device on Tuesday.

Effie Defrin, the chief spokesman for the Israeli military, said on Wednesday that seven personnel, including an officer, were killed by an explosive device in the southern city of Khan Yunis.

This marks the highest death toll in a single incident in Gaza for the Israeli military since a ceasefire between Israel and the Gaza-based Hamas resistance movement collapsed in March following Tel Aviv’s resumption of aggression.

He described the deaths as painful and difficult and part of a “complex” incident that was still being investigated, adding that the battalion to which the soldiers belonged had been locating and demolishing tunnels and killing Palestinian resistance fighters.

it wasn’t “hit” by IED lmao

A brave soldier ran up and dropped an IED in the open hatch and scorched them all

Israelis are so incompetent at ground war, they literally just all get into a tin can and sit still with the lid open, letting random people on foot just climb up onto their vehicles

Israelis are so incompetent at ground war,

It’s like combined arms 101. You need infantry watching the tank’s side and rear to prevent people from walking right up to it and doing exactly what you just described. The tank then uses its armor to protect the infantry who can hide behind it.

I guess when you rely on video games to train your tank crews, they get used to third person cameras lmao

Just for context, there was an airstrike ordered nearby so SOP mandates infantry remounts into armored vehicles for protection against shrapnel.

With that being said, yeah, obviously people fucked up operationally, and they should have had some kind of situational awareness, but, they weren’t just like chilling. They were sheltering in place for a couple minutes.

With the lid wide open so they could catch a breeze?

They’ve never faced discomfort once in their pampered lives, so obviously they can’t get claustrophobic for a few minutes!
