A strong majority of voters believe that President Donald Trump is falling short at home and abroad, and they want major change in the upcoming midterm elections, according to a new AP-NORC poll that raises serious warning signs for the Republican Party at a critical moment.
The survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, conducted less than four weeks before Election Day, finds that registered voters who identify as Democrats are more enthusiastic than Republican voters about casting a ballot. More voters want Democrats to win control of Congress and have a more negative view of Republicans.
The Democratic advantage is small in some cases, but, taken together, the findings paint a challenging picture for Republicans, who are clinging to control of Congress under the weight of an unpopular war with Iran and surging prices at home.
About 8 in 10 voters overall say the economy or the cost of living is among their top issues for the upcoming election, while about two-thirds say this about healthcare and the war in Iran. Other issues that are stronger for Trump — like immigration or crime — are lower priorities.

I’ve been hearing his popularity is at “A NEW LOW!” of 30% for over a year. Seems pretty static to me. Hope it’s enough.
I’ve been hearing “The People have Spoken and they want A Change In Washington” for over a generation.
Elections keep happening. What’s changed?
I mean…a lot. But somehow we went in the wrong direction.
Yeah, this. When people think “status quo” - meaning, functioning government - is the worst thing possible, and we need “change” or we “need to shake things up” (fer chrissakes…) the conservatives have ways of making it much, much worse.
The “democratic” system in this country is not designed to serve the people. That is apparent by the fact that the “house of representatives” disregards over three quarters of the population.
IIRC, that’s a fairly recent modification because conservatives at the time didn’t want to build the office space for additional representatives.
Oh no, I’m referring to (I don’t think there’s a common name for it, so I made one up) compounding representation loss, where in a close floor vote the winning side was elected by less than(typically far less than) one quarter of the country.
We’ve been hearing that his base is turning on him for the better part of a decade.
It’s something like how Disney somehow had about a dozen “first” gay characters
