That’s not how religion works. Examples off the top of my head:
Apartheid is built into brahmanic Hinduism, for example. A brahmin man being touched by a Dalit meant he was unfit for religious duties, which imperiled the society’s relationship with divinity.
JHWH ordered multiple genocides in the old testament (including the Amalekites, oft-cited as the authorizing precedent for Gaza by the Israeli government).
It would be nice if religions intrinsically opposed these things (along with stuff like slavery), but in general, religions manifestly do not.
that isn’t what the headline said. it said you are morally obligated regardless of your religion.
morals would be nice but do you know what religions say about the others
