See, I think you and I are focusing on completely different things. I couldn’t care less about how Trump is ripping off Americans. I care about how his tariffs impact Canada. If him and his friends are all double dipping off American idiots who keep paying for everything twice…then that’s on them for not doing more to stop him from ripping them off.
As long as the laws stop his tariffs from fucking the rest of the world over, then as far as I’m concerned the law is working. Nearly all of the tariffs he first imposed on literally every country on the planet that had a trade deficit with the US, have been lifted. The only ones that are left, are with his major trade partners, Canada included. Seeing those lifted too, would be ideal. And if the US taxpayers have to pay for it, no one here in Canada is going to shed a tear for them.
The bottom line is, none of this matters. What he is doing is illegal…not just according to US law, but also according to international law, in most cases. Sure, he’s ripping off Americans in the process and fucking things up for the rest of us…but in the end, it’s irrelevant. We just need to stop indulging him, and wait for the courts to overturn whatever stupid shit he’s doing today…because tomorrow it won’t matter.

Business: charges extra for tariffs
Taxpayer: pays business extra for tariffs
Government: collects money from business for tariffs
Courts: illegal tariffs are illegal
Government: shrugs OK, reimburses business
