Conservatism, patriarchy and hate (a tautology, really) is so deeply programmed into some men that the objective reality is easily ignored as long as the basic needs are met and “their side” is winning; and when the basic needs aren’t met anymore one can always abuse women and imprison immigrants to get some satisfaction.
