❗️US congresswoman Rashida Tlaib to force vote on ending military support for Israel’s invasion and ethnic cleansing in Lebanon

“Tomorrow, I will force another vote to end U.S. participation in the Israeli apartheid regime’s campaign of ethnic cleansing and territorial expansion in Lebanon.”

“Over 4,250 people have been massacred. Twelve children are killed or maimed every day as these U.S.-backed war crimes continue.”

“Congress must vote to end U.S. support for these atrocities and force an end to Israel’s invasion and illegal military occupation of Lebanese territory.”

❗️Activists organize New York protests as Ben-Gvir prepares to attend UN policing summit

    Expand

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is scheduled to travel to New York next month to address the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit on 7 and 8 July. The Israeli minister will lead an official delegation from Israel’s national security ministry to the annual convention at the UN headquarters.

The visit marks a rare appearance for Ben-Gvir in the US, where his policies have drawn heavy international criticism. In response to his upcoming arrival, human rights advocates and activist groups have launched a coordinated campaign to protest his presence.

Organizers are circulating an open letter addressed to New York Attorney General Letitia James calling for legal accountability. The mobilization also includes plans for a mass demonstration directly outside the conference venue to confront the minister in person.

The planned protests come amid expanding legal challenges against the Israeli official in international and domestic forums. Rights groups recently filed a formal complaint with the US Justice Department accusing Ben-Gvir of overseeing systemic abuse against Palestinian detainees.

Israeli officials have reportedly expressed concern over the scale of the upcoming demonstrations in New York City during the summit.

I’m sure revolutionary comrade Zohran will definitely do something about this right? I jest of course, usually I don’t like being so mean-spirited to baby leftists, (not Zohran but his supporters), however I do feel it is at least a little valid. Inshahallah I’m proven wrong, and the activists are able to succeed unabaited but I’m not confident.

Mr. “I’ll arrest Netanyahu” has the chance to fulfill something adjacent to a campaign promise. I’ll love to see how the righist section of DSA defends his inaction.

I’m sure he’ll proudly annoince his decision to “skip this event” like he did with the recent zionazi parade in NYC. It’s like the one time Biden showed up on a picket line instead of, you know, actually using his power to do something.

as strange as it sounds, it’s honestly relieving how little impact his death had on the conflict, especially for a yankkkee propaganda war. he died so early, and the war has forged on and barely anyone in the usa celebrated and nobody sees an end to the war despite his assassination, and most certainly iranians haven’t lay down and given up. rest in peace to his family. i remember his nephew or something of the like died—he must have been only three.

I think he was well aware of the effect his death would have and that’s why he refused to move to a more secure location.

I think the quotes revealed by the Indian delegation of Ali Khamenei’s office did a lot to ingratiate him after death.

It’s hard not to respect a man who was told to move and espined with “I’ll move to saftey when you can move the entire population to safety.” and, “I’ll hide in a bunker as soon as you can ensure the entire population can hide in a bunker.”

Speeches and quotes of his and from his work have flooded the Shia side of the internet. Many have become more mournful months after his death, as if they came to know the man post mortem.

I guess the winds of history were able to remove all the rubbish piled onto his image in life.

❗️British Museum colludes with pro-Israel lobby to erase Palestine from historical exhibits

    Expand

An investigation by Middle East Eye has exposed the British Museum for covertly removing the terms “Palestine,” “Palestinian,” and “Israeli occupation” from its historical displays following intensive lobbying by pro-Israel activists. Internal emails obtained via a freedom of information request reveal that the London institution rapidly altered descriptions of artifacts dating back to 7,500 BCE to appease political pressure groups, including the Board of Deputies of British Jews and high-profile figures.

While museum director Nick Cullinan publicly claimed the changes were part of a standard curation refresh and backed by audience testing, the newly released disclosures confirm that no visitor research regarding the term “Palestine” was ever conducted.

The internal correspondence details a frantic effort by museum staff to pacify complaints lodged between October and December 2024, with one directive explicitly ordering curators to remain hyper-conscious of the anniversary of 7 October. In one instance, a panel describing ancient rulers of “Palestinian descent” was scrubbed and changed to “Canaanite origin” within five hours of receiving a complaint from the Board of Deputies.

Middle East Eye cross-referenced the redacted emails to identify key lobbyists, including right-wing commentators and historians who weaponized access to the museum’s leadership to argue that historical references to an ancient Israelite occupation would stoke modern antisemitism.

The targeted erasure has sparked a severe diplomatic and cultural backlash, with Palestinian Ambassador to the UK Husam Zumlot accusing the public institution of betraying its historical integrity to serve political ends. Cultural figures and human rights defenders have condemned the museum for complicity in what the United Nations classifies as an ongoing genocide in Gaza, noting that the bureaucratic deletion of Palestinian history in London directly mirrors the physical destruction of heritage sites on the ground.

Despite photographic evidence showing that references to “modern Palestine” were replaced with “Gaza and the West Bank” at gallery entrances, the British Museum has refused to answer specific inquiries, issuing a blanket denial to Middle East Eye that any erasure took place.

❗️Iran has issued a sharp rebuke to the United Kingdom and France following their announcement of a planned multinational military mission in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi took to social media to denounce the move, asserting that the strategic waterway is not a domain for the projection of force by external actors.

“The Strait of Hormuz is not a theatre for the military display of extra-regional powers,” Gharibabadi wrote in a post on X. He further cautioned that regional stability remains the mandate of local coastal states, explicitly warning that “the crisis-makers will be held accountable for the consequences of their adventurism; this is a serious warning.”

🇮🇷🇮🇶We reported earlier on heavy deployments of Sepah (IRGC) hardware toward Iran’s western and northwestern borders.

The CIA/Mossad/MI6-sponsored Kurdish militant concentrations and HQs in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil have just been targeted with multiple missile/drone strikes. Iran’s response follows days of incursions and fatal terrorist activity by the militants on Iranian soil.

      @SimurghReshttps://t.me/SimurghRes/6578

🇮🇷🇮🇶The Kurdish militants have confirmed that their HQ was levelled by an Iranian ballistic missile.

There are also reports of several other strikes from drones on their encampments. The large presence of foreign-backed terrorist outfits on Iraqi soil (Iraqi Kurdistan) has been a bone of contention between Tehran and Baghdad.

🇮🇷🇮🇶The Iranian strikes on Kurdish militants were much more extensive than initially believed.

      • They involved Fath-360 short-range guided ballistic missiles

      • Shahed-136 UAV

      • Hadid jet UAV

      • Kaman-12 reconnaissance UAV

      • Mohajer-6 reconnaissance-combat UAV

      • According to published reports, one of the reconnaissance-combat UAVs (Mohajer-6?) likely crashed while returning, either due to a technical malfunction or interception.

❗️Committee to Protect Journalists removes board member after she opposed stripping protections from Palestinian media

    Expand

Dr. Nika Soon-Shiong announced her removal from the board of the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) following her intense internal opposition to a controversial new policy proposal. In an email sent to the board and later shared publicly on X (formerly Twitter), Soon-Shiong challenged an initiative aimed at stripping advocacy protections from journalists affiliated with what the organization labels “state-backed propaganda” or “terror-affiliated” organizations.

According to her letter, the internal friction intensified after right-wing media targeted Soon-Shiong for being vocal against Israeli apartheid and the genocide in Gaza.

Soon-Shiong warned the board that the new criteria selectively penalizes Palestinian media workers while ignoring major Western outlets whose reporters or editors have direct ties to the Israeli military, asking, “What should happen to outlets like The Atlantic, LA Times, or BBC where editors served in the IDF directly?”

She argued that redefining who qualifies as a legitimate journalist under political pressure “is a betrayal to our colleagues in Gaza who have faced the deadliest conflict for journalists ever recorded.”

Soon-Shiong concluded that the press freedom watchdog risks destroying its own credibility by adopting politicized definitions, asserting that CPJ “cannot credibly position itself as an objective judge of who is a legitimate journalist and what merits protection.”

🇮🇷The Iranian government has just received another sharp rebuke from the Assembly of Experts.

This, despite the grovelling impromptu trip by President Pezeshkian to members of the Assembly of Experts who’d made clear in an official statement, that the duty of the government is not to deviate from the Leadership line on the MoU with the US. Where as before the Pezeshkian trip, 63 members had signed onto the statement, immediately following his trip, 7 more members signed onto the pledge.

The Assembly is made up of 88 members. Four have passed away from natural causes and have yet to be replaced. The count for members who publicly support the statement has now increased to 70: up from 63.

Many among the Iranian political scene attribute Pezeshkian’s pathetic attempts to behind the scenes efforts by former president Fereydoon (aka Rouhani) and former FM Zarif’s conspiratorial efforts to buy the Assembly’s loyalty.

In any case, and despite an open letter from the Assembly’s Secretariat criticising the mode of the members’ announcement, the odds have suddenly become insurmountable for the “coup plotters”. Another howling miscalculation on their behalf is that through the USraeli process of elimination of Sepah and Army top brass loyal to the leadership, younger, more dynamic and far more capable officers have risen through the ranks, whose adherence to the Revolution is unwavering: the exact opposite of what was expected.

      🇺🇸🇮🇷| Now it makes sense.

The US dissuaded (=bullied) several countries, through Rubio & US embassies, to NOT participate in the funeral ceremony of Iran’s leader.

      13 countries caved in.

3 Eastern-EU, 5 African, 2 Persian Gulf, and 2 East Asian countries withdrew from participating in the funeral.

This might explain why South Africa, Maldives, and perhaps Algeria didn’t attend. They feared it would worsen their relationship with the US.
