Bullshit that last goal was offsides. VAR has done this to every game Iran has played in this year, but this was the most egregious. It’s obvious that the VAR is being used selectively.
Iran has had one goal removed from each one of their 3 matches due to an offsides call from VAR. In every case they would have won those games had it not been for this interference. The ref called it as a goal, and the original point of the VAR check was to see if Egypt performed a handball, only to conveniently negate Iran’s goal in what was easily one of the most exciting moments of this world cup.
Like, if forcing Iran’s team to ping pong back and worth between Mexico and the US wasn’t obvious enough that the US is trying to rig this competition against non-white countries, this should be the nail on the coffin. Iran has been set up to fail plain and simple, and yet they’ve played better than anyone expected.
Genuinely blood boiling shit, and I’m not even a football fan.
Regardless I’m still rooting for Iran in this shot show and hope they can make it further.
