Iran and Israel have struck each other many times over the last few days. There has been a general focus on military facilities and headquarters by both sides, though Israel has also struck oil facilities, civilian structures and hospitals, and in return for this, Iran has struck major scientific centers and the Haifa oil facilities.
Israel appears to have three main aims. First, to collapse the Iranian state, either through shock and breakdown by killing enough senior officials, or via some sort of internal military coup. Second, to try and destroy Iranian nuclear sites and underground missile cities, or at least to paralyze them long enough to achieve the first and third goals. And third, to bring the US into a direct conflict with Iran. This is because the US better equipped to fight them than Israel is (though victory would still not be guaranteed depending on what Iran chooses to do).
Iranian nuclear facilities are hidden deep underground (800 meters), far beyond the depth range of even the most powerful bunker busters (~70 meters or so), and built such that the visible ground entrances are horizontally far away in an unknown direction from the actual underground chambers. Only an extremely competent full-scale American bombing force all simultaneously using multiple of the most powerful conventional (perhaps even nuclear) bunker busters could even hypothetically hope to breach them (and we have seen how, in practice, American bunker busters have largely failed to impair or deter Ansarallah). There are several analysts on both sides who have concluded that it is entirely impossible to physically prevent Iran from building nukes.
I fully expect the US to join the war. I believe the current ambiguity is a deliberate invention of the US while they work to move their military assets into position, and as soon as they are ready, the US will start bombing Iran. After that, Iran’s leadership must - if they haven’t already - harden their hearts, and strike back with no fear, or risk following the path of Libya, Syria, and Iraq, either into either surrender, occupation, or annihilation. Every day where they do not possess a nuke is a day where lives are being lost and cities are being bombed.

Defense Politics Asia’s youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a ‘propaganda tax’, if you don’t believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

OK? And because of this they are incapable of being proactive and aggressive? The US is made of people too but doesn’t have this issue
Who said that China needs to get involved in a land war? Literally just fucking embargo the US and Israel already. Jesus christ.
Because the people of the US are materially interested in attacking others. You talk about yourself as some great material analyst, but come on. Actually look at the demographics you’re talking about, actually learn how people are in the US and China, the lives they lead, the things they think, their material conditions and their class interests. It’s pretty obvious why the US can convince people to go to war, and why China would struggle to get popular support for foreign intervention. The US is propped up by violence, it feeds them. China is propped up by peaceful trade. You can’t just “analyze” your way out of how people relate to the world around them and how people would feel about being asked to get involved in a war.
And the people of Iran should have been materially interested in protecting their own deterrence, but they instead failed and were too soft-hearted and “patient”. They acted irrationally by allowing themselves and all their allies to be destroyed
This is truly such cynical and bloodthirsty rhetoric. You’re literally victim-blaming on a national scale because Iran tried to avert war.
They will fight alone without allies because of their lack of this “cynical” and “bloodthirsty” logic. Analysis is not “victim blaming” it’s a cold autopsy.
Their “trying to avert a war” was doomed, they negotiated with parties that are not agreement capable. They should have known this after the first perfidies and betrayals but they kept going back. They failed to follow through on the commitments of the axis of resistance and instead prioritized their own economic comforts. The libs salivating at sanction relief when they should have been crying over the martyrs that died for nothing for them.
Yeah, I’m cynical after watching decades of these people self-sabotaging. And yes, I thirst for blood of imperialists which is the proper stance to hold.
The average Iranian wasn’t interested in going to war because, surprise surprise, they now get to see their sons and daughter fucking bombed. How terrible it must be to blame them for hoping that it wouldn’t come to this, because the monumental decision to pull the trigger on a war and all the countless deaths that will follow was not a simple calculus to the people who are actually involved.
Woe to them for the judgments of a safe and righteous keyboard warrior.
Israel WAS interested in going to war and destroying their nation, so tough shit. They don’t get to decide whether to go to war or not, it’s been declared on them. They could have determined the timing and whether they had allies or not, and they chose the worst possible path and will fight the war alone now. They fight either way, but because they were so “patient” and paralyzed with fear they will be easier to digest for the imperialists
If it’s so easy to choose to be part of war then get off your ass and do something, soldier. The Internet trenches aren’t going to defeat imperialism, they need the world’s best strategist in the war room, get to it.
I’m not a nation state. I also don’t have Israel bombing me seeking to destroy me. Weren’t you just talking about material analysis? Where did that go once you got on your moralist soap box?
Why would I go and sign up to fight for people who i’m openly expressing contempt for their letting their allies die for nothing? How do you square that logic? If I was part of the axis of resistance Iran would already have let me die to buy 1 more month to negotiate a dead end deal with the US. You are the one that has “faith” in Iran, so why don’t you go and fight in the axis and die for Iranian libs to have one more week before their war?
I’m not the world’s best strategist, i’m not even in the top 100 million people probably. Which makes it even more pathetic that i’m running circles around them and easily predicted all of this from the outset. If even I could see it, why couldn’t they?
This is literally what those NAFO people say,but on the left lol
