Controlling linguistical semantics is a very strong weapon in propaganda and fascism.

Hitler and other Nazis used the slogan “Deutschland über alles” (“Germany above all”) and also decided what it meant.

“I get to decide what America first means because I made up the term”, when even dr suess mocked America first in his WW2 cartoons

‘america first’ originated during the wilson administration and referred to his desire to stay out of the war in europe. the original ‘make america great again’ dates back to at least the 1980 reagan campaign.

neither one originated from the two-and-a-half brain cells starving-to-death under that hilariously-awful hairpiece.

Now you’ve got me thinking whether Atlantic counts as MSM. I’m guessing they’re kinda like The Intercept (?) but also very popular and the newspaper that commissioned and rejected Mearsheimer and Walt’s paper, prompting them to make it a book (the one mentioned in the sidebar) instead.
