Y’all know about Anarchist Nexus and Lumnous5481 putting “Murder all Zionists” in their display name, verbatim, leading to predictable strife with other instance personnel they were implicitly or explicitly calling to murder. I had several arguments here amounting to, it doesn’t really matter how bad you think the group in question is; you can’t just say ‘kill them all’ and act aghast when people have follow-up questions.

Two days after the last of these arguments, MysticMushroom1776 decided that ‘it’s not a matter of who’ was too apologistic, and banned me from all the communities they control. None of which I’ve ever posted in or care about. Okay.

I think I downvoted a post on MeanwhileOnWorld once, and if that’s the impetus, Christ, that’s sad.

Okay great, but when that means “I wish someone would murder the admins of other instances,” those instances will respond in predictable ways, regardless of how good your reasons are.

    For the murder fantasies.

It’s not a matter of who.

And yet, when you call for murder, the people you’re calling to murder will have entirely unsurprising responses. When those people are in charge of websites, you don’t get to be on those websites anymore. Regardless of your moral righteousness, you have to temper your calls to action, if you want to avoid that blindingly obvious result.

Maybe if an instance is modded by inhuman rape-and-genocide monsters it shouldn’t be federated? I feel like that’s reasonable. Its not as if there’s any benefit to dialogue with them.
