Defense for Children International - Palestine (DCIP) announced it has ceased operations after 35 years of documenting violations against Palestinian children, citing Israel’s targeted criminalization and restrictions on human rights organizations. The Ramallah-based charity said the increasingly hostile environment made it impossible to continue its work protecting minors affected by military operations and detention practices.
Founded in 1991, DCIP has long been a critical source for international organizations, journalists, and legal advocates, reporting on cases of torture, abuse, and administrative detention of Palestinian children and minors.
