I wouldn’t hold my breath, but it’s the right kind of agitation for KPRF to be doing. Their popularity has been surging of late, and putting up these kinds of policies is what keeps them in the spotlight.

I hope the influence of China pushes for a stronger socialist movement within Russia. I am intrigued to see how the neo liberals on charge react to a growing movement, when they know that if they start using more violent means of reaction against them could draw the ire of their obvious communist allies.

It seems inevitable that socialism continues to gain support when they are in such close ties with two major communist nations. If Russia start openly using military force against organized socialists, I wonder how the DPRK and China will react? I know they won’t do anything directly, but I’m sure they won’t be very supportive of it.

Imo, if Putin and the neo liberals were smart, they would already be preparing to give up power softly when/if the time comes. If they do, they may just be able to hang onto some of their assets and wealth.

Yeah, that’s my big hope as well. Now that the western liberalism is largely discredited in Russia, and all their core allies are socialist states, maybe it’ll start to rub off.

If Putin were to fully embrace communism, would he have the support to win an election?

I can’t really see him embracing communism to be honest. He’s been fairly vocal in saying he thinks USSR was a failure. But, people are starting to realize that not everything was bad in USSR, and that it got a lot of things right.
