I think it is completely safe to assume, until further information is released, that the US government may have shot itself in the MQ-9b Reaper (aka predator b) costing $30,000,000 - $245,000,000 (depending on sensor package) to procure and $12,000 per flight hour to operate.
I’m guessing quadcopter because it would be impossible to hide the wreckage otherwise or confuse it for a cartel drone. Still possible though that it was something more substantial.
So…did they shoot down a $20 quadcopter, or like a $200,000,000 Global Hawk? “Drone” is kind of an overloaded term.
