People have been saying it’ll be uneconomical to mine bitcoin at all for like a decade now. Like half a decade back a bunch of bitcoin miners sold off their gpus, but then they used the proceeds to just buy newer dedicated gpus when the price went back up.

Don’t get me wrong, bitcoin should not be an industry, but this isn’t really a new thing.
