Boy and his father back in Minneapolis after being detained by ICE and held in immigration facility for more than a week

A five-year-old boy and his father were back in Minneapolis on Sunday after being released from a Texas immigration detention center where they were held for more than a week, according to US House representative Joaquin Castro.

“Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack. Thank you to everyone who demanded freedom for Liam,” Castro, a San Antonio Democrat, said in a post on X. “We won’t stop until all children and families are home.”

The Texas politician said he picked them up from the detention center and brought them back to Minneapolis early Sunday.

I’ll say it a million times and I’ll say it their faces. If their reaction is to immediately defend exploiting vulnerable children, they’re depraved, they’ve got no soul, and to fuck straight off.

    Finally a useful politician

I am relieved this kid has been released, but I remember that there’s still over 1000 people in Dilley, and Dilley is one among many. These kids are being fed rotten food, given dirty water for baby formula, often separated from their families. With ICE committing so many crimes, how many of these kids are getting trafficked?

People who are trauma informed understand, “that poor kid (who has been abused) is damaged for life” is a true statement.

Trauma informed sounds so stupid. Like some kind of lame effort to replace the real words for what it is. Its probably meant well as such lame ass concepts are but for someone who has suffered abuse and at his age it sounds like a bullshit catch phase to me.
