The craziest thing is that you could clearly see this coming from like a decade ago as vaccine reluctance ticked up and isolated single digit outbreaks would occasionally appear in the news. The pandemic definitely accelerated it but it was clearly happening before and there wasn’t anything to stop it. Real sliding into a new dark ages shit
