It’s a religious war. Both sides are convinced that their god is on their side, and they will win eventually. Their fictional god (both of them, which are the same fictional god) allows them to have a delusional sense of superiority generated by priests assuring everyone that it’s destiny, god’s plan, what god wants, etc…

This just allows for religious genocide. On both sides.

You want peace? Stop believing in stupid, fictional gods.

The Zionist movement started as a secular one, and a plurality in Israel are still secular. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) started as a secular Marxist organization. Religion has only entered the conflict after the collapse of the Soviet Union, with the support of the Netanyahu wing of Likud for both Hamas and Jewish extremists. Many atrocities, including the Nakba and the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, happened under completely secular rule. Religion is not central or essential to the conflict, history is, identity is, and secular Jewish ethnic supremacism is. Stop projecting your militant atheist wishful thinking onto this conflict.

Oh thats a comfortable opinion. Radical centrism for the win. Both sides are BAD mkay. The one thats burning children alive literally today and the other that fights against occupation. Ah if only I could be so comfortable, so inhumane. There are ways to have solidarity even in times as bad as these, you dont have to cope.
