Fuck major grocery stores for throwing just fine products away. This is why I sometimes buy products with damaged packaging. It’s the tiniest difference I’m making, but it feels good. It’s ridiculous that people in charge of the decision to dump food don’t do these little things that feel good. How is dopamine from profits better than dopamine from feeding thousands of people?
I’ve been wondering about this SNAP situation. Where I am, the most crushing cost is housing rather than food. So if you’ve managed to keep a roof over your head, you’re probably also keeping up with groceries, or at least not starving. Other places are likely having more dire experiences though.
