TIL… Wikipedia founder doesn’t believe the fucking mountains of evidence presented right there on Wikipedia itself.

    This is peak liberalism.

I assume good faith of everyone who has worked on this Gaza “genocide” article. At present, the lede and the overall presentation state, in Wikipedia’s voice, that Israel is committing genocide, although that claim is highly contested.

No it is not you willfully ignorant asshole, everyone with any shred of integrity is in agreement, this is a genocide of the Palestinian people.

A neutral approach would begin with a formulation such as: “Multiple governments, NGOs, and legal bodies have described or rejected the characterization of Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide.”

    What a coward.

    Terribly disappointing.

To quote Rush “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”

There is no “neutral” when it comes to genocide.

Genocide is violence that targets individuals because of their membership of a group and aims at the destruction of a people.[a][1] Raphael Lemkin, who coined the term, defined genocide as “the destruction of a nation or of an ethnic group” by means such as “the disintegration of [its] political and social institutions, of [its] culture, language, national feelings, religion, and [its] economic existence”.[2]

There’s no subtlety in what is happening in Gaza. Go ahead and fuck off, Jimbo.

    His words:

It should go without saying that I am writing this in my personal capacity, and I am not speaking on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation or anyone else!

I assume good faith of everyone who has worked on this Gaza “genocide” article. At present, the lede and the overall presentation state, in Wikipedia’s voice, that Israel is committing genocide, although that claim is highly contested. This is a violation of WP:NPOV and WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV that requires immediate correction. Remember: “This policy is non-negotiable, and the principles upon which it is based cannot be superseded by other policies or guidelines, nor by editor consensus.”

A neutral approach would begin with a formulation such as: “Multiple governments, NGOs, and legal bodies have described or rejected the characterization of Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide.”

    What a wet lettuce.

In other news, Wikipedia will suddenly get an “anonymous donation” and will cease asking for funding…
