AUGUSTA-- Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has notified every state that November funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the nation's largest anti-hunger program, will not be issued at this time.

    My grocery bill has increased maybe 50% over the past five years while my wage has remained what was unaffordable in 2020, with the local labour market being hit by multiple mass layoffs and hiring freezes at the same time.

    Boy im sure glad the director at the dining hall i work at says nobody can take home food anymore!
