GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Acrisure will cut about 400 jobs next year, including nearly 200 in Grand Rapids, as the company moves toward artificial intelligence technology, Crain’s Grand Rapids reports.

Crain’s reports that permanent layoffs will be hitting the accounting staff of Acrisure’s North American Retail and North America Specialty divisions in 2026 as the company deploys AI technology.

Acrisure bought Tulco’s artificial intelligence insurance business in 2020 for $400 million.

“Acrisure remains very committed to the Grand Rapids community and our home state of Michigan, where we employ approximately 2,000 people and continue to hire for roles in various areas,” the company said in a statement Wednesday evening. “We will continue investing in local partnerships, programs, nonprofits, and initiatives that strengthen the region, while working toward a future that creates value for employees, customers, and the broader community alike.”

According to Crain’s, Acrisure notified workers of the upcoming layoffs via a memo sent Wednesday.
