At the graduation for Columbia College, the university’s main undergraduate school, some students repeatedly interrupted Ms. Shipman’s remarks with loud jeers. At one point, they chanted “Free Mahmoud.””

Why go to commencement?
They’ll still give you the degree. The ceremony is about prestige. They have none.
Colleges are withholding diplomas for people who disagree with them/ wrong think.
Slam dunk lawsuit. They have a transcript. Signed by NYU. Case closed.
If only the students weren’t in crippling debt…
ACLU is taking these cases for free. Any idiot lawyer with time to spare will definitely strike up a CAL for this, and for free, because they’ll make bank in the end, and also open the door for a larger lawsuit to sue the government. Lawyers are scrambling for these right now.

You do that by boycotting the ceremony and publicly humiliating them and their attempt at keeping their prestige.
You help them by dressing up and doing their dance.
Nobody notices people who don’t show. Booing makes more sense.
