Yeah, I can’t argue with that, but at least he acknowledges the error and is doing something, anything about it.

    Edit to add:

Democrats unanimously confirmed former Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as Donald Trump’s secretary of state earlier this year…

Frankly, every Democrat in the Senate should be on the attack and profusely apologizing for their stupidity.

Who fucking cares? Everyone knew Rubio is a complicit sack of shit. Dogs knew it.

Every fucking Dem senator voting for Rubio when he was going to be confirmed anyway makes them all look complicit with Trump administration. What a bunch of chickenshits supporting traitors who never needed their votes anyway.

Frankly, every Democrat in the Senate should be on the attack and profusely apologizing for their stupidity.

They shouldn’t have voted for Rubio in the first place!

You are correct, they shouldn’t have but you can’t change the past. They fucked up. I want them to do something now to try and do something about it to try and fix the problem.

How will they ever fix the problem when they keep making the same stupid mistakes?

By attacking the Republicans at every step and making every evil choice as public as possible. What else can they do? What do you want them to do?

Not voting for shitty Republican nominees would be a fucking start. Whining about what the administration is doing while actively supporting it is the fucking opposite of attacking the Republicans.

Obstruct the horrible shit with procedural steps. Get on the news and call RFK Jr a “FUCKING LIAR” about not being an antivaxxer. Be direct instead of using coy phrasing that goes over the general public’s head. Be crass! Be anything other than the milquetoast wet blankets that they continue to be.

The difference is that basically anyone nominated after Rubio would be worse. He’s basically the best person put forward by this admin, as sorry as that is.

Sounds more like damage control than much else. That they have to do because, you know, America thought they didn’t have to bother voting dem because it’s whatever. Hence gestures around

If zero Dems voted for Rubio then Rubio would still be in the same position but the Dems wouldn’t look like jackasses for giving him votes. It wasn’t damage control, it was a self goal.

How is rolling over for the Republicans going to work for them in the next election?

Maybe it wasn’t that then. I don’t say I support it but I’m guessing they were thinking (old school) that if they voted for someone who of course they don’t like but is actually a somewhat serious candidate that the Republicans would respond by nominating more like that.

But again, that kind of thinking is still going on in the Dem party and obviously outdated. One would think they’d learn that there is no give and take with this batch of Republicans. At all.

I have no idea how the old guard can’t understand how much things have changed in the last few decades when that is their full time job.
