The Taliban would’ve taken over immediately anyhow after the northern alliance fell and brought what’s happening today just all the way back in 2001. To me, the Taliban rule is exponentially worse than the resulting years of moderate improvement up til now.

It would be extremely easy to overcome the inertia in the party if people just actually went and voted but the left, again, never runs out of excuses as to why that can’t be done. Hell, Zohran DID THAT. The primary turnout wasn’t even stupendously high and he increased it enough to easily win the primary.
