If youre wondering why the US media is suddenly covering France is because there’s violence.

See when america was founded we rebelled against our social betters. Then those what were in the colonial bourgeois became the new elite class. That bourgeois looked at the French revolution with horror because regular people - not the landed gentry that Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, Washington, Jay, and Madison were from - and realized real quick that a revolution could happen to them too.

So what did they do? They vilified the revolution. They condemned the violence. And used it as a way to keep colonial Americans from revolution again.

Every time we have something approaching a riot in america this same playbook is used: focus on the violence, dont talk about the reasons for the protests and dont talk about how those protesters have been ignored when they were peaceful. Just paint anything other than someone holding a sign as violence and you can keep a lid on your people.

I’d love to see Foghorn Leghorn take his “aww shucks” southerner bullshit west and north. Texas and Oklahoma will love him but thats it.
