If a state receives a court order that their maps are illegal, they just have to throw up their hands and pretend there’s no time to change them until the election takes place. Then they can use the illegal maps and face no consequences. This precedent has been set in multiple legislatures controlled by the bastards.

I’d say apathy should be interpreted as a vote for the status quo (incumbent) but it’s flatly wrong to call it a vote at all.

We probably need an amendment to actually do redistricting fairly, but as long as one side is abusing the process, it doesn’t make sense for the other side to try to continue being ‘fair’. You’re just bringing a fart to a shit slinging contest.
