Besides a small amount of highly contested and destroyed territory in gaza and south lebanon, or the overthrow of assad (the latter which is honestly a pretty big win for the zionists), they don’t have much to show for the past 3 uears of war and economic disruption.
It’s like if a gang of burglars tried to rob a house. Their only accomplishment after a night of shoot outs is that they occupied the living room. So functionally, they’re going to sell more oil in the future and at a cheaper price compared to competitors. Cause otherwise why leave the cartel? Also I guess this might also signal a shift to doing some non-dollar sales of oil?
Haven’t been following the news for a week so I can only speculate that the reason for this ranges from anything from trying to please trump by lowering prices to them trying to pivot to China.

What stops someone paranoid with an itchy trigger finger or even just bad intel or grainy surveillance photo to make a mistake and fire on a real civilian ship!
Sometimes I forget that westerners genuinely have lost their capacity for caution. Blowing up what you think is a warship over shoddy intel or grainy footage is onion levels of parady. But that’s straight up just how western militaries operate.
A lot of the infrastructure and engineers in the US literally don’t exist anymore so the remainders of the old programs that the US ran just decay away (exponentially).
The US only adds new military assets when it commissions new programs, then often, those programs don’t remain as standing production lines. After making a number of units, they stop.
Munitions are an exception, but things like planes and ships operate like that.
In some way, it does make sense. There’s no need to indefinitely continue production unless you’re in an active peer to peer war, especially when technologies become obsolete.
Critical munitions of course can be stockpiled and don’t become obsolete so you can keep pumping them.
