politics @lemmy.world•‘Dictator’ Trump Floats Idea of Canceling Midterm Elections
511·15 days agoFor this dumbass to accomplish this, he would have to re-write the entire constitution. He would have to tirelessly broadcast his dumb message to all offices across the United States and be like “hey uh, republicans are kinda losing in some areas and it made me poopy me diaper some, so i’m cancelling mid-terms, you okay with this bruh?”
In otherwords, he can’t. He can and will try. But he can’t. Unless he wants to start yet another insurrection even as president.

5·17 days agoThey’ve always won and few of us knew it.
You can’t go to war against an idea which is what Terrorism is all about. It was what the whole entire War on Terror was all about. To actually win such a war, you’d have to have bombed and nuke everywhere but your own country to try and neutralize the idea and even then.
The terrorists had successfully upset the US into going into security, spending and warring frenzies. And still aren’t learning from it.

I have a problem with that line. Maduro has been president of Venezuela since 2013. Just, how long would it take for the people there to free themselves? 50 years? Never?
I mean look at the American people, we’re no different. We keep talking about revolution, civil war, assassination. We’ve only maybe have a couple of near misses, but the rest are just nothingburger after nothingburger. We still willingly wake up, go to work, come back home and repeat everyday while we glue ourselves to the news just getting vicariously pissed off and yet we do dick about it. We just grip onto voting like they’re rosary beads in hopes things turn around and only then do we proclaim we’ve done something, only allowing the villains we’ve elected previously, to get off scot-free.
And even then, that doesn’t promise anyone that we won’t stupidly elect another dictator of our own.

9·23 days agoI want to slap authors who headline things in a way that make it sound like we never knew what an agency under a fascist regime was designed for. Then just go on to explain some things that they actually did. While ignoring the months-long reports of every criminally-accountable and law-breaking thing they’ve achieved.

3015·23 days agoI still say ‘Fuck you’ to them because they got us into this mess. Voting has its consequences and we’re suffering for it, because of their indecisive, easily manipulative and delusional minds.
There’s just no excuse to ‘not being politically aware’ when you always will have ample time to research about the candidates. You can’t just fucking go into the voting booths and just fill in the boxes of the candidates based on your party alignment then come out after voting being all like “I wasn’t politically aware” when they see the damage being done. But that’s what they did, that’s what majority of those 70+ million idiots did.
This isn’t like voting for some prom queen or prom king shit, welcome to the real world, morons. You fucked us over.

politics @lemmy.world•All in the family: In 2026, a surge of politicians' kids are running for office
61·28 days agoAmericans had made it clear that we don’t take chances on electing politician relatives and family.
There had only been two instances where father and son served as presidents. The last time this happened, the Bushes ruined this country. We didn’t want Hilary Clinton, despite how well Bill Clinton was as president (and these days we probably won’t want him anymore because of Epstein). We shot down Jeb Bush’s chance of making it in office.
And if Donnie’s little son wants to run, we’ll shoot him down too.

He’s going to try anyways.
If anything, the red states will be stupid enough to listen, probably. The blue states will still vote and effectively will shoot the Republicans in the foot.
Republicans talk big game and are cunning, but not the brightest people in power.
