I mean, of all the things, “I made a hasty statement out of anger” isn’t one that I’m particularly upset over getting downvoted for, regardless of whether I walked it back.
Cripple. History Major. Irritable and in constant pain. Vaguely Left-Wing.
I mean, of all the things, “I made a hasty statement out of anger” isn’t one that I’m particularly upset over getting downvoted for, regardless of whether I walked it back.
I genuinely do not remember doing this, but i apologize.
I do vote irresponsibly and occasionally vote things that i go back to later and go “why the fuck did i upvote/downvote this?” I’ve been called out for this before too and i want to be more careful with voting in the future.
Then I apologize for jumping to the conclusion that it was malice. I’m high-strung on my best days, and I shouldn’t have assumed that you and the other admins were on the same page.
I literally said that in my comment. “I know nothing about Holodomor or Xinjiang, nothing at all”
I read that as Uyghurs or Xinjiang. I suppose I have to confess to having misread something now.
I did upvote Unruffled’s comment which was the ‘proof’, but in my defense i did not see that last part, and i only really read the first paragraph.
You also downvoted multiple posts discussing the Uyghur genocide, and that were about, exclusively, criticism of the Uyghur genocide.
Either you’re bullshitting now, or you weren’t reading anything you were voting on then; just, I don’t know, giving up and downvotes according to who was being responded to, I guess?
I guess you don’t know much about the Holodomor either, considering you and the rest of the admins left that lovely bit of denialism up as well.
If calling you out for being part of a fucking moderation team that removes one form of genocide denial, but ‘conveniently’ seems to ignore every major form of tankie genocide denialism is malicious, what the fuck do your actions come off as? Benevolent?
There was a misunderstanding about Fxomt’s votes. I overreacted considerably, and I retract my accusations towards Fxomt.
What, did you find some more sexual assault and genocide to deny? I know that always amuses you.
Nah. The only reason I came to this thread was because I was pinged. I generally stay out of dbzer0 comms at this point. As the audience here shows, Dbzer0 comms are quite alright with genocide and atrocity denial these days, which is unfortunate. I don’t remember it being like that at first, but maybe I just didn’t see it.
I mentioned that I clicked on a user’s profile after seeing them comment because I was interested in what they were up to lately, and that I found it to be mostly bad (unsurprisingly). Things that I read on their profile that I disagreed with and found sufficiently vile to regard as a negative to even be said, I downvoted.
Said user went to the dbzer0 admins to accuse me of ‘downvote trolling’ for this, admitting that I had only downvoted comments I disagreed with. The dbzer0 admins agreed that downvoting comments that one disagrees with (if the person being disagreed with is one of Their’s™ ) is ‘downvote trolling’ and temp-banned me.

It’s massive, fair warning.
Downvoting comments I disagree with was considered “downvote trolling”
I’m not banned, and the idea that I’m a compulsive liar is laughable. I guess it hurts that I come with receipts when I make claims?
I was temp-banned. The only awful experience I had was the temp-ban, which was over the admins deciding that downvoting things you disagree with is, apparently, against the rules (when they want it to be).
remember when they were all in favour of BLM and defund the police but all they didnwas raise police budgets?
Even a significant majority of Black Americans are in favor of raising police budgets.
Copaganda runs deep.

Checks-and-balances rely on:
Voter interest in civic participation
Careerist politicians and bureaucrats
If voters have no civic interest and prefer masturbatory prejudices to serious consideration of civic duty, and if ‘careerist’ politicians are given immense power and wealth for stepping aside (either by retirement or by simple non-action when in office) thus rendering self-castration of their office personally meaningless to their career path/personal fortunes, checks and balances don’t mean shit.
All systems are reliant on a population’s willingness to obey and enforce their rules. We in the US, apparently, have very little appetite for that anymore.
As the four years of the Biden administration in the face of literal fascism showed, there are definite drawbacks to that approach.
It’s not usual procedure for evidence to be released to the public, and both Biden and his pick for the DoJ, Merrick Garland, were unimaginative precedent-driven ghouls who wouldn’t take a piss if it didn’t have a court case and bipartisan agreement in the past five years authorizing it.
Did you not follow the entire Obama-era policy on Gitmo?
It was attempted to be closed, multiple times.
I think it speaks more to how shallow policy questions tend to be.
Abstract policies are a notoriously poor way of polling for voting patterns.
But it seems most people don’t have a strong opinion on our New York boy, which is honestly the best we could ask for at this junction. May Zohran the DESTROYER’S enemies be DESTROYED Mamdani succeed and, for our sakes if not necessarily his, go on to national politics after. Gods know we need him.
It’ll pass in ten minutes. These cultists do not have the same values as people we would consider ‘normal’. This will not sway them any more than the past five dozen fucking times some fundamentally undeniable issue of hypocrisy in ultra-vile evil shite has come up.
Will she fight for them, or will her GOP affiliation win out?
