Public protest isn’t a viable strategy in the west in regards to reliably extracting victories in the time span people fucking need them to happen.
This is exactly the sentiment I fail to express to my one lib friend who I talk the most politics with. They’re not a resistance lib, but they are also not a leftist. They know the system is severely broken, but are still supportive of the establishment and think it can be fixed.
I try to explain to them that I just don’t think we have adequate time left for slow progress; there are way to many immediate ramifications that will cause way too much irreversible damage by the time the slow roll of “progress” catches up. I just don’t think we can afford the slow moving Overton window that normies assume is happening. They disagree and still think change can happen by electing hundreds of AOC’s and Bernie’s as a counter to the thousands of Pelosi’s and Schumer’s.
It’s exhausting being a leftist in a world full of civility radlibs.
