I’m starting to think this is all shadow play to increase European support for militarisation. Europeans are not going to support war with their current levels of comfort. They need to feel afraid, threatened for all side.

Trump is just helping that process along, maybe he makes a one-sided dead around “securing” Greenland and their resources along the way. It’s a win-win.

Sometimes it doesn’t seem like US policy is even worth explaining. The US is a monstrous military hydra and it’s many heads have different motivations and goals. Why did the US kidnap Maduro? Because on some day in December, the presidential brief told Trump that they could… Why could they?
